| Gaza - Stateless, Leaderless, Mindless and Powerless
They will not turn on the lights or put food in the belly. The Arab League should be counselling Hamas to show "strength and bravery" by abandoning its insane policy of trying to get rid of the Jews. This is a policy still shared with its rival seeking control in Gaza - the Palestine Liberation Organisation. It is this policy which has and will continue to sow the seeds of suffering and despair for the ordinary Arab on the street who is powerless to do anything to end this mindless hatred of Jews. That ordinary Arab must now be ruing the day he voted Hamas to power - even though the corrupt PLO alternative was little different in its attitude to Israel. He has helped create the political environment that now threatens his daily existence. He is not just an "innocent citizen" and totally without blame - as claimed by US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice.
Ex-CCAD employee enters a plea of guilty
CORPUS CHRISTI A former contracting officer at the Corpus Christi Army Depot pleaded guilty in federal court on Thursday to receiving bribes, the second Defense Department employee in Corpus Christi to do so in three weeks. Jack Edward Griffin, 56, was indicted in November on charges that he accepted bribes and gifts in exchange for accepting shoddy or incomplete work from contractors. Griffin's attorney, David Sibley, said Griffin received about $1,400 from a contractor. Sibley has filed a motion asking for leniency because, among other things, Griffin is a Vietnam veteran who refused to mount a defense because it would take money from his daughter's education. He has paid his lawyer with a generator and power washer. Sentencing is scheduled for March 20. Another contractor officer, Edward E.
McCain positioned to finish dramatic comeback
Mitt Romney, and their clash could remain bitter, with Romney ready to write more personal checks to keep the campaign going. A wing of the party that loathes McCain could rally to Romney as the last best chance to stop their maverick nemesis. But McCain's victory in Florida's primary Tuesday firmly established him as the favorite headed into a 21-state, coast-to-coast showdown on Feb. 5 and to go on to win the party nod.McCain took the lead for the first time in delegates needed to win the nomination at next summer's Republican National Convention. With all of Florida's 57 delegates, McCain had 93, Romney had 59 and former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee had 40.But McCain's real edge is how he stands headed into the contests next Tuesday when more than 1,000 delegates will be awarded, many of them in winner-take-all states.

"I support Ron Paul for president because we share the same goal, that of overturning Roe v. Wade. He has never wavered on the issue of being pro-life and has a voting record to prove it. He understands the importance of civil liberties for all, including the unborn," she said at a press conference in Washington this morning. Ron Paul accepted the pro-life activist's endorsement, saying of abortion: "It is still one of the most crucial issues of our day that we deal with this. As much as I talk about economic liberties, and civil liberties, and trying to avoid the killing overseas, I think the issue of life is paramount." .
